SelexIQ Impact

Safeguarding Policy

SelexIQ Impact works with students aged approximately 14–18. Safeguarding is built into every programme stage — not added afterwards. This page summarises our principles and commitments.

Safeguarding first

No project activity begins without an approved safeguarding plan. Mentors sign off on safety before any community delivery.

Private data protected

Student contact details and precise locations are never published. Private evidence is accessible only to authorised reviewers.

Mentor oversight

Every project has an assigned mentor who reviews activities, milestones, and evidence at each checkpoint.

Consent-driven

Parent or guardian consent is required for participation, activities, photography, and any public publication of student work.

Our safeguarding commitments

  • All mentors and partners are briefed on safeguarding expectations before working with students.
  • Project activities are scoped to be age-appropriate and low-risk; higher-risk activities require additional review.
  • Students are never asked to share personal contact details with community members directly; coordination goes through the platform and mentor.
  • Photography and video of students require explicit parent/guardian consent and are never published without separate publication consent.
  • Evidence files containing identifiable information are stored privately and reviewed before any public visibility is granted.

Consent management

Parents and guardians manage consent through the Parent Portal. Consent can be granted or withdrawn at any time. Withdrawal of consent triggers immediate review of any published content involving the student.

Raising a concern

If you have a safeguarding concern

Contact us immediately at hello@selexiqimpact.org with the subject line "Safeguarding." All concerns are taken seriously, reviewed promptly, and handled confidentially. If a student is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
